Stomach

A digestive organ that also releases hormonal signals, including gastrin. A signal’s site of production is distinct from its target.

Receptor location — biological context

A receptor in an organ does not prove that this compound reaches or affects that organ.

  • GLP1R

    Homo sapiens · non-human primates

The tissue study detected GLP1R in parietal cells and smooth muscle cells in the outer muscle layer of the stomach. Location alone does not measure a molecule’s effect on gastric emptying.

The atlas is being expanded. Missing links indicate gaps in this map, not absence of biology.
