Kidneys

Two organs near the posterior abdominal wall filter blood and remove waste in urine. The right kidney usually lies slightly lower than the left.

Receptor location — biological context

A receptor in an organ does not prove that this compound reaches or affects that organ.

  • GLP1R

    Homo sapiens · non-human primates

In this human and monkey tissue study, GLP1R was detected in smooth muscle of renal arteries and arterioles. This does not establish receptor expression throughout the kidney or explain a particular drug’s clinical kidney outcomes.
